For many local communities in Puerto Rico, the climate crisis is political. For Those To Come takes on the task of unearthing the fight and strategies of Boricua communities combating the climate crises that threaten the livelihood of the people living in the archipelago. While the wrath of climate change and colonialist infrastructures attempt to cast a shadow over the islands’ future , everyday people have led humanity-centered innovation, advocacy and community building that transcend any government intervention or systems.

This intimate portrait of women leaders is a love letter to Puerto Rico y su gente. As they build networks of mutual aid, dissent, and accountability in the archipielago, they fight for their right to remain in their lands and homes. These are the stories of women leading a generational movement against profiteering and the climate crisis. In a race against time, For Those To Come offers  an inside-look at the solutions they’re proposing in an effort to protect the next seven generations to come.

Muchas comunidades puertorriqueñas entienden la crisis climática como una crisis política. “For Those To Come”, ‘Por los Que Vienen’ en español, asume la tarea de resaltar las luchas y estrategias silenciadas de diversas comunidades en Puerto Rico. Mientras la ferocidad del cambio climático y las estructuras coloniales amenazan el futuro de las próximas generaciones, las comunidades impulsan abogacía e innovación, y construyen comunidades que trascienden cualquier intervención gubernamental o sistema.

Mujeres lideresas protagonizan esta estampilla y carta de amor hacia Puerto Rico y su gente. Son ellas quienes construyen redes de apoyo mutuo, disidencia y denuncia en el archipiélago, mientras luchan por el derecho ancestral a permanecer en sus tierras. Estas son las historias de las mujeres que lideran un movimiento intergeneracional en contra del lucro y la crisis climática. Contra tiempo, viento y marea, “For Those To Come” es una mirada personal a las soluciones propuestas para proteger a las próximas siete generaciones.
